I was an ELMER to this guy (Mike Rioux)… I convinced him to get a REAL license… he finally upgraded to General, then Extra after 20 years as a Technician

This kid grew up to be somebody… K1ZND / K1ZZ Dave Sumner, current CEO of ARRL!

Mr Moonbounce himself… Joe Reisert / W1TR… worked him while at FD 1977 in Storrs, CT on 6 meters with a KWM-2 and 62S-1 and 3 el beam at 10 feet off the ground !

This guy, W2CVW, was my mentor during my NCS days in New Jersey Net (NTS Traffic) back in the early 1960’s, worked him again recently in the 2007 ARRL 160 CW Contest
